Hello classmates,
This week the exercises were a bit different than the previous units, I actually really liked the Loving Kindness exercise because after a few minutes of really envisioning the words I was saying I began to feel my body getting warm. I felt happy and strong, as if energy was just radiating out of my body and into the universe for others to use when they need good energy. As far as the integral assessment, it was pretty clear from the start what area of life I really needed to work on, which is my career. I have always been the type to worry about everything, which can sometimes get in the way of positive progression. I seem to worry and stress about the way my career is going. (I currently am in the food and beverage industry and have not a clue what field I want to go into after school) When I really looked at my life it seemed that this was the only real stressor in my life right now, and that it is because of the worry that this stressor exists at all. This is definitely the area I choose to focus on for inner and outer growth. I know I am capable of anything I put my mind to, so I have to begin to calm my mind, put good energy out into the universe, and stop faltering when it comes to researching job opportunities. One exercise I think would help is imagery meditation. I need to focus on the negative feelings I have for this area of my life and begin to infuse them with loving-kindness and patience. I think this will be a great first step to overcoming my unwanted fears and self-doubt.

Hello Stacey. I think your strategies for meditation will help you tremendously. I used to stress out about several factors in life until I began sorting through what was really worth the energy and not. I found that when I do not let things affect my stress levels, and preventing myself from becoming overwhelmed, I can handle any situation that comes my way. My area was biological. I am a very healthy individual but I would like to gain strength, endurance, and energy along with implementing more organic foods into my diet. I think compiling these into the proper program would have amazing results. I feel that your meditation exercises would work for me and for anyone who is trying to overcome any negative that comes to mind. I would suggest meditation as a tool for my clients as well. I feel that when you chose to believe in the exercises, anything is possible. Good luck to you!

Stacey,
ReplyDeleteOne meditation that I like to use when I'm struggling with a "where do I go from here" type of situation is I ask the universe to guide me to the right path for the highest good and then I light a candle. I watch myself find the path or open the door that will lead me to where I am needed. It was what lead me to these classes and new choice of career. It is still evolving and changing but I trust that the universe will lead me to where I need to be. Back some 13 years ago I did this with my job now and I ended up on a airplane sitting next to my employeer.
Good luck!

Hi Stacey,
ReplyDeleteI agree that this was a great unit and I too enjoyed the exercise. I have learned so much from this course that I will take with me the rest of my life. The food and beverage industry is fun and it can be difficult at times. I used to dabble in it for a few years and realize I’m getting too old for that. I keep going back and forth on my career after school, but there are some interesting things happening at work right now that may direct my path more clearly. Good job on your post, it was a pleasure reading it.
