Unit 2: Journey On Relaxation

Hello everyone,
I just tried the out the relaxation exercise posted on in our course this week, and I actually really liked the visual aspect of it, while I was doing the breathing and thought exercise I was becoming entranced by the beautiful colors and visual effects of the screen-I think this is a very good way to calm any wandering or overactive mind. I personally felt a bit of a difference when I tried the entire exercise in my body, except I mentally moved the centrally located blood to my head and shoulders as I had a headache and a kink in my neck. The exercise worked in relieving (temporarily) my headache and left a warm and tingly sensation in my shoulders and neck.
Overall, enjoyed it.

  1. Hello Stacey,
I definitely have to re-try the exercise again when I am more relaxed. What colors did you see as your visual effects? The one thing I did notice when trying this exercise was the tingling sensation in my thighs and hands. Did you feel any sensation in those areas as well? In addition thank you for the very nice comment you left on my page. You put a smile on my face today!!
    Thanks:-)

  2. Hi Stacey -
I know what you mean, I was suprised myself. At first I was looking at my computer screen not really knowing what to exspect then as I listened I realized that the visual played an important part as well. So far I have practriced the same relaxation technique out every night since I learned it. I mostly visualize the blood going to my feet. I do this because I want to really know it's working and my feet are always cold so I guessed that would be a good 'target' spot. Next I'm going to try my back because that's my tension area and it may help in relieving some of the tension in my back.
